22 LR shoots

Winter .22LR Indoor Shoot

 

Starting first week in January thru end of March/beginning of April. For both adults and youth this is a weekly shoot. Sighting, practice, and making targets start at 7pm, and safety brief and shoot start at 7:30pm. Open to the public

Shoots at 15 yards standing to a disk with backing paper. Shoot consist of 20 rounds. Pay outs determined by number of shooter. Pay out for each round and best shot of the night.

 

Thursday: Adult shoot $6 (50/50 included)

$1 backwards/ blank disk shoot

$1 ping pong shoot (when time available)

Friday: Youth shoot $2

( Age 8&9 with an adult mentor, 10 thru 18/high school, max age 19 yrs old.) Youth 10-16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or relative, Or have signed permission from parent/guardian if riding with a friend.

 

We have ear and eye protection, .22LR ammo and a couple of rifle for youth to use from grants from the NRA. But you are more than welcome to use your own. Youth can bring rifle and use club ammo.

22LRG

Paper Groundhog Shoot

Course of fire

- This is a 22 Rimfire shoot only.

- Targets will be placed at 50,100,150, and 200-yard line.

- The shoot will be run in relays starting at the 50-yard line.

- You will have 6 minutes for 7 shots on target.

- Your best 5 will be counted for score.

- Tie breakers will be decided by the best unscored shot.

- Each target consists of scoring rings from 10 to 5 points with a 10x also.

- Each target will be worth a total of 50 points. With the exception of a 10x that will be worth 1 point

more, equaling 11 points per shot.

- Match results will be a combined score of all four targets, with 200 possible Points not counting any

X’s.

- If a shot touches the scoring line, it will we scored as the higher point.

- 50-yard targets have a ¾” ten ring. 100 through 200 will have a 1 1/16” ten ring.

 

Rules

- Spotting Scopes are permitted for the shooter to use.

- If using a spotting scope, you cannot impede on anther shooters area and must stay seated at the

bench to use it.

- No person can act as an aid to any shooter that’s shooting. Except if the shooter is in youth class.

- Wind flags are not permitted. The club will provide wind flags.

- No one piece rests are permitted. The front and rear rest must be separate items.

- No rest is permitted to clamp to a rifle. Rifle has to be able to lift straight up freely from the rest.

- Bipods are permitted.

- Heavy unlimited rifles-Must weigh 10.1 Lbs to 17 Lbs.

- Factory standard rifles-Max weight is 10 Lbs., but can be entered into Heavy Class if shooter so decides.

- Factory standard rifles-Must have a factory stock that can be bedded. NO tuner, after market trigger

work, barrels or stocks can apply for this class.

- A rifle can only be used one time per match. Shooters cannot share gun.

 

22LRG

Classes:

-Youth Class- 15 years old and younger. Youth shooters are permitted to help and guidance on firing line.

Youth shooters may also enter adult class but must be competent enough to shoot the course of fire without

aid and safely.

-Standard Factory Rifle- Any rifle that weighs 10 Lbs. or less. It must have factory stock, barrel, and trigger. A bedded factory stock is allowed. NO tuners or after market triggers, barrel work, barrels, or stocks are

permitted. If shooter in this class so decided, he may enter a category standard rifle in unlimited class.

-Heavy Unlimited Rifle- Any rifle weighing 10.1 Lbs. to a max weight of 17 Lbs.

Pay outs$

-$15 entry fee per gun

- We will pay out 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd place prize in each class.

-If in any given class there is only 4-7 shooters, we will only pay out 1 st and 2 nd place.

-if in any given class there is only 3 shooters or less, we will only pay 1 st place or minimum of entry fee.

Keystone Sportsman Club 22LRS RULES

Basic Layout

- The course consists of 40 targets for score.

- 10 – Chickens at 50 yards (offhand)

- 10 – Pigs at 100 yards

- 10 – Turkey at 150 yards

- 10 – Rams at 200 yards

All the targets will be shot from left to right in order. If a target is missed it will be skipped and you engage the next target in order. If shot out of order it will be considered a miss. Target engagement starts on the bottom row of 5 targets, then moving to the top row of 5 targets. At each stage the shooters will be given 6 minutes for as many sighting shots as they want including their 10 targets for score in the time allowed. Then moving to the next stage of targets. Every target knocked down counts as 1 point. The person knocking down the most targets at the end of the match will be the match winner.

Shooting classification

In a 40 shot match – Your first shoot, the shooter will be unclassified and place in the Master class. Once shot, the shooter then will be placed into a class based on the number of targets hit. Then will be in that class for the following shoots.

Classes are as follow for Scope, Iron sight, Youth 1 and Youth 2:

0 -14 Targets B Class

15 -21 Targets A Class

22 -28 Targets AA Class

29 -34 Targets AAA Class

35 -40 Targets Master Class

 

Advance Classification and Declassification

- To advance to a higher classification a shooter must shoot two scores in a higher class in one season to advance. For example: If a AA class shooter shoots a Score in AAA class and a Score in Master class, That shooter will advance form AA class to AAA class. But if that AA class shooter shoots two Master class scores, that AA class shooter will advance to a Master Class shooter.

- If a shooter shoots three times in a row in a lower classification, that shooter will move down one classification.

Youth Classes

- Youth 1 – 11 years old and younger are allowed to use the monopole that the club provides for chickens. A bench may also be an option at the Match Directors and parents discretion. The rest of the rules for this class are same as stated in “Positions and Rest” section.

- Youth 2 – 12 to 16 years old. Shoot chickens offhand unless medical impairment or at Match Director and parents discretion. The rest of the rules for this class are the same as stated in “Positions and Rest” section.

Shooters Commands

Shooters will be given a series of commands as stated:

- Bring your rifles to the line. (unloaded and safe) Any shots during this command will result in immediate dismissal.

- “Ready” command. (shooter may load and prepare to fire down range.) Any shot during this command will not count.

- “Fire” Command. (at this point the shooters can engage their targets.)

- “Alibies” (Something happened out of the shooters control and needs fixed, ie. Wind blew over targets, or Gun malfunction.)

- “Cease fire” (stop all shooting) Any shots after this command will not count.

- Unload your rifles and make them safe , rack your rifles. Any shots after this command will result in immediate dismissal.


 

Time Limits

- 10 Second “Ready” command

- 6 Minutes for as many sighting shots as the shooter wants plus his/her 10 targets for score.

- Alibies will be allotted extra time to fix the problem depending on the complexity of the problem. (Match Directors call)

Positions and Rest

- Chickens will be shot offhand only. No mechanical or added support other than the human body.

- Pigs, Turkey and Rams may be shot from Bench, Prone, Cross Sticks or Offhand.

- Shooters must use the mechanical rest that the Club provides.

- A simple hunting style bipod is permitted. No F-class or wide stance fixed bipods.

- No restrictions to cross sticks. Gun must be able to be picked up off sticks freely. Not attached to stick in any way.

- No rear rest other than shooters hand and shoulder.

- Butt stock of rifle has to be at minimum of 4 inched off surface your shooting off of

- The monopole that the club has provided can be used for offhand chickens provided that the shooter has a disability. In any tie score the shooter that did not use the pole will win the match. Youth 1 may use the monopole.

- No Butt hooks, slings, palm rest, shooting jackets, shooting gloves and other positioning devices are permitted.


 

Rifle Restrictions and Acceptance

- .22 short, long and long rifles only.

- Any Scope is permitted.

- Any Iron sight is permitted.

- No weight restriction, Must be able to be held for offhand shooting.

- Rifle must be shot in the same configuration from start to finish. If a problem with this occurs it will be the Match Directors discretion on how to fix.

- Use of a spotting partner is permitted and highly recommended.

Awards Given

- If a shooter hits all 10 animals for score, that shooter will receive a 10 pin in that particular animal.

- Match winner pins will be given to the highest scoring adult and youth in Iron and scope class.

- Class winners will be recognized only.

Club and Match Directors Rights

- The Club and Match Directors hold the right to disqualify or ban anyone that is being unsafe or disruptive to the shoot or other competitors.

- The Club and Match Directors hold the right to make any field calls on acceptance or restrictions.

- The Club and Match Directors combine hold the rights to change or add to the rules as problems arise.

- No alcohol, Drugs or mind altering substances of any sort are permitted before or during the match.
